Human Rights are the rights that every human enjoys in the world irrespective of their caste, sex, age, and religion. It refers to the universal values and equality that can be claimed for all humans irrespective of where they are staying.

They do so to ensure that peace is conserved and that all individuals are allowed to progress and move forward with the world. It is only then that the country will flourish. Human Rights organizations around the world receive millions in funds that are meant to be used for people whose human rights have been violated. Anyone with a genuine case can approach any one of these institutions and have their case heard.

Many countries have separate courts to hear such cases giving oppressed people to come out of their misery for doing nothing wrong. Two people are great supporters of human rights and have worked towards highlighting many human rights cases.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin are known as the founders of the successful Phoenix New Times and the Village Voice Media. Among the many good deeds, the two are known to have given away the settlement money that they received for wrongful arrest by the Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

A significant amount of money is now being used to fund cases of migrant right organizations across Arizona and other states.

In a big case that Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin won was against the Sheriff of Maricopa County, Joe Arpaio. The officer arrested the two on Oct 18, 2007. Both of them were good journalists at the time and were arrested from their homes at night. They were put behind bars for the night and were told that they would need to appear before the jury and they would need to submit their notes to the Sheriff for this purpose. They had to submit reports giving names of all the people who were their viewers and supported their stories against the conduct of the Sheriff. Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin worked to get the case dismissed as they were wrongfully jailed. Once they were out, they sued the County and won at the end because they were not wrong.

Michael and Jim created the Frontera Fund that helps groups and individuals in their civil and human rights cases. They also assist the migrants in the country and are a great supporter of freedom of speech. They have taken up activities to promote the civic participation not just in Arizona but also the Mexican border.
